FESSIA and ASEAN Centre for Energy Sign MoU to Advance Energy Storage and Power System Flexibility Across ASEAN

‍8 October 2026, Manila, Philippines | The Future Energy Storage & System Integration Alliance (FESSIA) and the ASEAN Centre for Energy (ACE) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to strengthen regional cooperation on energy storage, system integration and power system flexibility.

The MoU was signed at the 26th ASEAN Energy Business Forum (AEBF) 2026 in Manila, Philippines, marking an important milestone in FESSIA's efforts to strengthen regional engagement with ASEAN Member States.

Through this partnership, FESSIA and ACE will advance cooperation on energy storage, system integration and power system flexibility through policy research, technical knowledge exchange and capacity-building activities.

By combining ACE's regional policy expertise with FESSIA's industry perspectives, the collaboration aims to translate shared ambitions into practical solutions that support the implementation of the ASEAN Plan of Action for Energy Cooperation (APAEC) 2026-2030.

The FESSIA-ACE MoU was signed by Liming Qiao, CEO and Founder of FESSIA, and Dato' Ir. Ts. Razib Dawood, Executive Director of ACE. FESSIA’s Policy Director, Dr. Christopher Len, and Philippines Country Manager, Benj Flores, joined the signing ceremony onstage as witnesses.

Welcoming the partnership, Beni Suryadi, Senior Manager for APAEC and Strategic Partnership at the ASEAN Centre for Energy, said:

ACE is pleased to welcome FESSIA as a partner in advancing ASEAN's energy transition. This collaboration brings valuable industry perspectives that can support ACE's work to scale renewable energy, accelerate energy storage deployment, and strengthen power-system flexibility across the region. We look forward to working together to translate shared ambitions into practical, ASEAN-relevant outcomes under APAEC 2026-2030.

For FESSIA, the MoU represents an important step in strengthening its regional engagement and connecting industry perspectives with ASEAN's broader energy cooperation agenda.

Liming Qiao, CEO and Founder of FESSIA, said:

This MoU marks an important step for FESSIA in building a long-term regional partnership with ACE. It provides a platform to support ASEAN's clean-energy transition through stronger collaboration on energy storage, system integration and power-system flexibility, while aligning FESSIA's work with the priorities of the APAEC 2026-2030.

The partnership reflects a shared commitment to strengthening cooperation between policymakers and industry stakeholders to support the development of more flexible, reliable and resilient power systems across Southeast Asia.
